Mountain Valley Winery
Tennessee is hardly known as wine country. So a winery is probably the last thing you’d expect to find on a Smoky Mountains vacation. But Pigeon Forge Parkway is home to Mountain Valley Winery, which claims to be the largest of the two dozen or so wineries in Tennessee. Visitors to Pigeon Forge have a standing invitation to learn more about the winemaking process during Mountain Valley Winery’s daily wine tours and wine tastings.
Mountain Valley Winery in Pigeon Forge produces more than a dozen wines, all made from grapes grown in local vineyards. The Pigeon Forge winery’s wine list includes dry wines, semi-sweet wines and dessert wines. Its dry wines are Cascade White, a Chardonnay aged in oak barrels, a Merlot and a fruity red wine called Cynthiana. Three semi-sweet wines are available from Mountain Valley Winery: Mountain Valley White, Mountain Valley Blush and Chambourcin, a red wine. The list of dessert wines produced by Mountain Valley Winery in Pigeon Forge includes Muscadine, Collier Reserve, Mountain Valley Red, Mountain Berry and Mountain Peach. Another Mountain Valley Winery dessert wine is an award-winning wine made from blackberries. Several Mountain Valley wines are considered heart-smart selections.
In addition to locally produced wine, the Mountain Valley Winery gift shop sells Tennessee farm products, such as cheese.
Mountain Valley Winery in Pigeon Forge is a member of the Tennessee Farm Winegrowers Association.
