Take a break and head to Pigeon Forge this Labor Day for three fun-filled days with your family. Summer is coming to an end, so now is a great time to take one last summer trip before the fall season begins. Here is a sample weekend itinerary to help you get the most out of your stay!
Saturday – September 1st
Get up early and start the weekend off at the Comedy Barn Theater 6th Annual Kickin’ Chicken 5K Run & Fun Walk! Bond with the family while getting in some exercise and supporting a good cause — Safe Harbor of the Smokies, Childhood Advocacy Center. There will be prizes and the 100th finisher will receive $100 cash!
After, take the family over to Top Jump for indoor trampoline fun! It’s a great way for the kids to let out their energy while giving mom and dad some downtime. There’s plenty of fun to be had with the fire & ice ninja course, cliffhanger challenges, and dodgeball.
End your day at Dolly Parton’s Celebration! Dinner Show. This is one of the newest shows in town and of course, Dolly has put her special touch on it. You will get a four-course dinner and be entertained with acrobatics, music, and comedy like no other. It is a great way to celebrate the end of day one in Pigeon Forge!
Sunday – September 2nd
Pack a picnic basket and have lunch in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s the perfect scene to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature that surround you. There are plenty of great picnic spots located near Cades Cove, which is a fun place to explore after you eat!
Finish up the day playing some mini golf at one of the sweetest places in town, Crave Golf Club. Try your luck on their 19 hole rooftop course where you will weave through a candy wonderland! You can even compete against one another with a game of mini bowling. You won’t be able to leave without satisfying your sweet tooth in the Sweet Shop or at the Milkshake Bar. Crave will have the whole family craving for more!
Monday – September 3rd
Grab breakfast at Frizzle Chicken Farmhouse Cafe before you head out of town. Enjoy a delicious Southern breakfast to the tunes of singing chickens! They have plenty of gourmet pancake options, however, the Frizzled Chicken and Waffles tops the list! Not only will your tummy thank you, but so will your wallet. You get a free kids meal with the purchase of every adult meal.
Afterward, browse through Pigeon River Pottery in Old Mill Square and watch the potters at work. You will find plenty of unique treasures to fill your home or take back home to give as gifts. Their pieces are functional and are great reminders of your visit to the Center of Fun in the Smoky Mountains!
Make this Labor Day Weekend a good one in Pigeon Forge!
