In celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week 2017, we’re shining the spotlight on Pigeon Forge employees and recognizing them for their excellent customer service!
Meet Glenda Burgins, Park Services at The Island in Pigeon Forge who was nominated by Caitlin Gouge.
“As a park services employee at The Island in Pigeon Forge, Glenda Burgins’ impact goes far beyond simply making sure our property is clean. Having worked at The Island for over 2 years and at Dollywood for 16 years before that, Glenda is no stranger to the hospitality industry in Pigeon Forge. Glenda goes out of her way to, not only talk to our guests, but make sure they have lasting memories of their experience. We have even received post cards sent to Glenda after guests return from their vacation to tell her how great she made their visit. If Glenda is on break, you can always find her feeding the ducks and taking care of the wildlife that surround our property with food she brings herself. When we ask Glenda what she loves most about her job, she says, “The people.”- who sometimes even become her friends. Always with a smile on her face, Glenda is willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to make our guests’ vacations one to remember. She is a positive representation of our brand and a true asset to, not only The Island, but the hospitality industry as a whole in our area. With almost 20 years serving our industry and city, we can’t think of a better person to be recognized for their care and commitment.”
